Uki-waza (Floating throw)

Summary
This Yoko sutemi waza (Side sacrifice techniques) features a dynamic circular throw.
Features of this Waza
The Uki-waza (Floating throw) is applied at the moment the opponent moves forward, and consists of destabilizing and throwing him while sacrificing your own posture.
Waza details
From the natural posture, Tori (Player executing technique) aggressively pushes Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) back. Feeling threatened, Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) attempts to evade the attack by stepping strongly forward. At the moment, Tori (Player executing technique) executes this Waza.
Just as Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) begins to move forward, Tori (Player executing technique) extends his elbow out from his side so that it is parallel to the floor and pulls Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) backward with his Hiki-te (Pulling hand) while lifting him with his Tsurite (Lifting hand).
With Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) then destabilized toward the front corner, Tori (Player executing technique) extends a leg, placing it against Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) advanced leg, and applies pressure to Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) leg. With his advance stopped, Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) becomes even more unstable.
Tori (Player executing technique) then topples Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) toward Tori (Player executing technique) Hiki-te (Pulling hand) side, turns his body to face that direction, and adopts a side sacrifice posture while pulling Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) along. At this time, Tori (Player executing technique) Hiki-te (Pulling hand) pulls Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) elbow strongly downward as if strike the floor with it, and his Tsurite (Lifting hand) (extended across Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) face) pushes Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) shoulder upward as Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) is thrown.
As he is thrown, Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) fixed foot describes a large circle as his body rotates.
Waza usage tip
- At the moment when Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) places his weight on his Support leg, Tori (Player executing technique) slides feet-first directly beneath Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) while pulling him to ensure snug contact with Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) legs.
