Renraku waza (Combination of several techniques)

Renraku waza (Combination of several techniques)

"Renraku waza" (Combination of several techniques) refers to a combination of the "Tsukuri" (Technique setup), "Kake" (Technique execution), and "Tai-sabaki" (Body shifting / Body control) consecutive maneuvers used to apply a Waza to the opponent. In higher-skilled contests, combatants can identify the opponent's intended Waza in advance, making it difficult to throw an opponent with a single straightforward Waza. In actual contests, therefore, a combatant must use "Renraku waza" (Combination of several techniques) by destabilizing the opponent with an initial Waza, and then switching to another Waza. Renraku waza (Combination of several techniques) are many and varied, and they clearly reflect each combatant's unique personality and characteristics.
